About Jade Jarvis Photography

Jade Jarvis Photography is a Utah-based wedding, elopement, proposal, and boudoir photography business, with a focus on adventurous sessions in Utah's national parks. Here's the background, the areas I cover, and why couples keep bringing me along for the biggest days of their lives.

Photographer

Hello, I’m Jade Jarvis

I got my start in concert photography before moving into weddings. That background is where the candid eye comes from: I’ve been told I capture the “in between moments” well, the reaction shots and happy tears that a posed, Pinterest-style photo list would miss entirely. I’ve been running Jade Jarvis Photography since 2025.

My style is documentary and candid-first: I’m looking for real reactions and unscripted moments over stiff, heavily posed portraits.

I’m an avid hiker and rock climber, and I put real time into scouting the locations behind your photos, not just showing up and shooting whatever's in front of me. As an oldest daughter, I also come fully prepared to wrangle a family photo group into place quickly and efficiently, a skill that turns out to matter more on a wedding day than almost anything else.

I recently married my favorite person and I’m in college studying math. Most days after a session, you’ll find me editing photos, working out, or working on homework.

Every booking is backed by a written contract, and I shoot on dual-card-slot cameras with a documented backup workflow, so your images are protected from the moment I press the shutter.

What I Shoot

I split my time between four kinds of sessions, and I built a dedicated page for each one rather than trying to make one page fit everything:

Where I Work, and What I Bring to a Permit Process

I’m based in the Salt Lake, Utah area and travel throughout the state at no extra charge, with regular work in Provo, Salt Lake City, Ogden, Moab, and Utah’s national parks from Zion to Bear Lake. Anywhere else in the U.S. adds a flat $1,000 travel fee on top of your package price, covering my travel and stay; international sessions add $2,000 for the same.

A lot of the Utah locations couples want, Snow Canyon, Arches, Zion, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands, come with their own permit rules, and I’ve learned those rules firsthand rather than looking them up the week of your session. Every location page on this site spells out exactly which of my documented sessions were shot there, and I’m upfront on the pages where I don’t have one yet rather than dressing up a stock-feeling substitute as the real thing.

Wedding

“It was a HUGE burden off my shoulders on the wedding day to just know you were in charge of telling everyone where to go and what to do and how to pose. We could just relax and enjoy! And more than all of that, the end product of the actual photos has been absolutely stunning for each event! You really know how to capture not only the event and its happenings but also the atmosphere/mood AND the people!”

Amy

Elopement

“Jade was prompt, good with communication and had a professional outlook. Would definitely recommend!”

Kim & Cody

Proposal

“We were BAWLING our eyes out looking at these. It was like we were right back in this moment. You captured it perfectly, we are obsessed, thank you Jade.”

Off the Clock

Life Outside the Camera

I got married myself not long ago, so I’ve sat on the other side of the planning binder recently enough to remember exactly how many conflicting voices there are about it. That's part of why I believe your day should have your final say on everything, not a script I hand you. Outside of sessions, I’m usually editing photos, working out, hiking, or studying math in college.
