La Caille is a French restaurant and vineyard tucked at the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon, dried flowers hanging thick from the entryway chandelier, swans and peacocks wandering the grounds, and three distinctly different lawn spots to propose on. This is what I've learned scouting it: package prices, which of those three spots fits your plan, and where to take her afterward.

La Caille is open for Sunday brunch (10am-2pm) and Wednesday through Saturday for dinner (5-9pm), and any proposal has to fit inside those hours. They won't book a proposal on a night they already have a wedding, and since weddings land most often on Thursdays and Saturdays, Friday evening tends to be the easiest night to land.
Whatever you bring for décor needs pre-approval: no artificial florals, confetti, candles, or small loose decor pieces. The lawn has three spots couples use most, and which one fits depends on what you want behind you in the photos.
The first and most-used spot puts La Caille's stone château architecture, complete with its round turret, directly behind you. It's an easy, short walk from the entrance, which makes it the simplest to connect to a dinner reservation.
A short walk from the first spot, near a stream and a weeping willow, this one trades a bit of the château backdrop for more separation from restaurant traffic. It's the pick if you'd rather not have other guests walking past mid-proposal.
The third spot faces La Caille's working vineyard, with Little Cottonwood Canyon's mountains framing the rows of vines directly behind you. It's the most exposed of the three, since it's the closest to the open lawn, but it's also the one spot where the canyon itself is the backdrop rather than the building.
These are the glass-domed wooden pods that come with the Grand Romance package. Each one seats a small group around a table, fully enclosed in glass, tucked into the trees near the creek. During the day they play up the mountain view; if you time your proposal for evening, they work just as well lit from inside after dark. Book far enough ahead that you get one and aren't stuck deciding between it and the other package tiers last minute.
The Chateau is a separate stone manor on the same grounds, more private than anywhere on the main lawn. La Caille books it as a photoshoot location, and mornings around 7-9am get you the least competition for the space; when I called to book it, the quote was $250, plus $50 for each additional person beyond the couple and photographer. Book it at least a month out, since La Caille caps photoshoot bookings to within a month of your date, and stick to the areas you've reserved: the property enforces steep fines for wandering onto unbooked Chateau grounds.
The Chateau also runs as its own overnight rental on Airbnb, listed as La Caille's Historic Castle: four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a full kitchen, on the same 22-acre property at the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon. Both the Chateau and the restaurant appear in scenes from Dumb and Dumber, which is a fun detail to drop into your own story later even if it has nothing to do with your proposal.
Every proposal package includes access to Les Secrets, the bar tucked downstairs from the main restaurant, reached through a wine-label-covered hallway with a neon "La Vie en Rosé" sign lighting the way in. It's a good spot to land afterward: a curved bar, garden-view seating, and enough distance from the lawn that you're not still on display right after the moment itself.
During the summer, La Caille runs jazz concerts on the main patio during dinner service, most often on Saturday nights. It's a nice touch if you're eating there anyway, but plan around it if you're proposing that same night: live music playing nearby isn't what most people picture for the actual moment, so check the schedule before you lock in a Saturday.

Three tiers as of this writing: $100 for A Little Magic (an hour of garden access for up to 3 people, no setup, no photographer), $250 for Sweet Love (an approved setup in the Lower Gardens plus a reserved table after), and $550 for The Grand Romance (a private Alpine Globe reservation after the proposal, with blankets, three dozen roses, and a celebratory dessert).
