The 4 Best Elopement Officiants in Northern Utah

The four elopement officiants I recommend most in Northern Utah are Greg at OrangeBird Officiants (from $200, handles your marriage license paperwork), Laura at Envision Events (full-service, with a consultation, walkthrough, and rehearsal included), Erica and Becca at LoveStories (story-driven ceremonies from $550 with Spanish-language options), and Brad at The Wright Way (a licensed Christian officiant serving Utah and Salt Lake counties). Which one fits comes down to your budget, whether you want a religious or non-religious ceremony, and how hands-on you want them with the paperwork.

Finding an Officiant

Congratulations, you’re planning your wedding ceremony in Northern Utah and you need an officiant to make it official! There are many options, but these are the people that I’ve found, trust, and know will be responsive and take care of you. They each have their own spin on the responsibility of an officiant and I want you to find the officiant that will align with your values and needs as a couple. A few factors I always tell my couples to look out for when picking the right one for them:

TL;DR

Greg at OrangeBird Officiants

I first met Greg at Mavely and Tyler’s elopement in the winter of 2025. Greg is professional, down to earth and understanding in his ceremonies. Greg isn’t afraid to travel a bit for a beautiful elopement in nature, and he officiates both elopements and weddings. His prices start at $200 for an elopement and $400 for a wedding. Greg will handle all of your wedding paperwork after the ceremony. He does charge for travel from Salt Lake City, and takes a video recording that he posts on YouTube.

Laura at Envision Events

Laura handles everything for your big day. She has years of experience as an officiant and will work with you before, during and after the ceremony. Working with her includes a consultation to personalize your ceremony, a beforehand walkthrough of the ceremony, marriage license filing, and a rehearsal of the ceremony.

Envision Events

Erica + Becca at LoveStories

LoveStories was founded by Erica, who also officiates weddings. She brought on Becca, who has a history in theatre. Their ceremonies are story driven and they work with couples before the wedding to capture the essence of their relationship through an interview and consultation. Each ceremony is custom written, and they also offer help writing personal vows so the ceremony truly is yours. They offer Spanish language ceremonies. They offer both wedding and elopement ceremonies across Utah with wedding ceremonies starting at $750 and elopement ceremonies starting at $550. Your LoveStories officiant will handle the paperwork of filing the marriage license after the ceremony.

Brad at The Wright Way

Brad is a licensed Christian wedding officiant that services Utah County and Salt Lake County. He will travel outside of those areas, but he does charge for travel. Brad creates personalized ceremonies for each couple that he works with and does traditional Christian ceremonies and non-religious ceremonies. He is able to also conduct ceremonies in Spanish by request, but is not fluent in the Spanish language. His packages include a consultation call before booking, a personalized ceremony script, and day-of wedding officiation. Brad also offers pre-marital Christian counseling.

Now Book the Rest of Your Day

An officiant makes your ceremony official. The photos are what let you relive it, and show your people who couldn’t be there what the day looked like.

Once you’ve got your officiant lined up, the next call is your photographer. I shoot elopements across Northern Utah, from the Cottonwood canyons to Park City and the Uintas, and I’d love to help you plan the rest of the day around whichever officiant you choose.
